History
Established to meet the growing demands of Bangladesh’s expanding economy, Payra Port was officially inaugurated to ease pressure on existing ports like Chattogram and Mongla.
The port is undergoing phased, large-scale infrastructural development to transform into a modern, full-fledged deep-water facility capable of handling ultra-large container vessels and heavy bulk carriers.
